working full time for four years, earning my PE during that time, I left to entergraduate school, studying ethics, religion, and focusing ultimately on women’s, gender, andqueer studies. I continued to work in engineering part time remotely as a I completed mymaster’s and PhD. My academic training is in humanities, but religion is an interdisciplinaryfield that allows for many methods, including ethnographic methods. For my dissertation, Iundertook a qualitative study of Cambodian women who were leaders in their Buddhist andChristian religious communities, my work funded by a Fulbright award.
