decrease in enrollment numbers and shift to onlineteaching, combined with multiple reports of cheating in the wake of COVID-19, present aninteresting case for studying the students' performance at different phases of COVID-19. The CityTech is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), and many of our students come from low-incomehouseholds and underrepresented communities which were dramatically affected by the pandemic. For the CST Department, the portions of students with economic disadvantages from the totalenrolled numbers are around 72.5% in Fall 2019 and around 64% in Fall 2020. This projectinvestigates how the changes in the learning environment (i.e., in-person to virtual and virtual toin-person) affected different student groups at City Tech at

With an emphasis on smart and connected cities, the SCR2 programprovides summer research experiences (eight weeks for students and six weeks for teachers). This paper presents our learnings and insights of the program for the past four years withevaluation findings. There have been 116 students and 44 teachers who have successfullyparticipated. The research program was conducted on campus in 2019, but due to COVID-19, theprogram was conducted online in 2020. In 2021 and 2022, the program was redesigned to behybrid, and six host sites participated. Despite the changes in the program, students' prowess wasenhanced by their teamwork and engagement in the projects. The post-program survey raisedconcerns about

employment in an industry anxious for employees. The UtahDepartment of Workforce job forecasts and other job trends surveys indicate that while thesestudents can earn strong salaries without degrees, their careers will not advance as they wouldwith degrees [5]. Employers are also feeling the disadvantage of too few job candidates with theadequate training provided by a baccalaureate degree [6]. The lack of adequate number ofscholarships in Computer Science and Engineering programs is a significant inhibitor ingraduating and enrolling more students. capstone project.ConclusionAs a capstone project, we successfully designed and implemented an 8-bit CPU using the DE2FPGA board. The CPU has 16 operations in its instruction set, each defined by a 4-bit opcode. With the use of VHDL code, we were able to realize the arithmetic functions of the ALU-CU ata higher level, bypassing the need for circuit-level design. We tested all the operations in theinstruction set and verified the results through the use of the 7-segment displays and LEDs on theDE2 board.References[1] Ronald Hayne, “An instructional processor design using VHDL and an FPGA”, Proceedingsof 118th ASEE Annual Conference, Vancouver, BC, Canada, June 26 - 29, 2011.[2] Karim Salman, Michael Anderton, “5-step design methodology for a general

The LMS data relatedto assignments and other graded activities are collected and used for each one of these courses. The resulting dataset used in this study consists of many courses in different modalities, taughtby different instructors, and spanning multiple semesters. Having such a large data set enablesthe use of time series classification and forecasting techniques to address key inquiries in thestudy. The driving question of this study is whether it is possible to

Page - 2 For instance, the initial question we developed was “Can we use available institutional data toidentify differences in pass rates between student subgroups and can we predict time to declare successfor these different groups?”. We hypothesized there would be no detectable differences, and found wedisproved that null theory. For academic years 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20, 3,286frosh students came to the concerned Californian university to study engineering. Of that entire group,2,514 (77%) were able to successfully meet course requirements and declare engineering major by theend of their second year. However, of the 539 URM students and the same 5-year period, only 332 (62%)met course requirements and

evolves.Teaching cyber-focused concepts in an interdisciplinary manner is critical to the properunderstanding of cyber in the 21st century. Developing cyber professionals must have a well-grounded technical understanding of the cyber and then utilize and extend this knowledge tobroader, nonlinear, and risk-infused environments. We hope this paper helps the reader examinehow to implement this in an academic environment in order to graduate the next generation ofwell-balanced cyber professionals.Works Cited[1] "Maritime Risk Symposium," [Online].
