engineering education research on the integration of sustainable development in engineering education studies as represented in ASEE conferences? 2. How have these topics changed over time? 3. How does research on these topics vary by discipline?Terms and Definitions To contextualize this paper and more concretely characterize engineering education forsustainable development (SD), we begin with key definitions. . While the terms ‘sustainability’and ‘sustainable development’ are often used interchangeably, neither term has a universallyshared meaning. Early on, sustainable development was defined as “development that meets theneeds of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their ownneeds

This is not thefirst time that the Texas power plants have failed due to cold weather conditions. In 2011, rollingblackouts swept through Texas due to extreme cold temperatures that caused power plants to fail. After this incident, ERCOT encouraged weatherization to equip power plant facilities to withstandcold temperatures. PreparationPreparing the data involved four steps: (1) collecting relevant papers, (2) documenting designprocedures from the selected manuscripts, (3) coding the content, and (4) defining thesequencing of design procedures. In this case, the publication venues chosen were the Journal ofEngineering Education (n = 17), the European Journal of Engineering Education (n = 20), andthe ASEE Annual Conference proceedings (n = TBD). The search for manuscripts wasconducted using Creswell and Plano Clark’s [4] recommended strings: “mixed method*” ORmixed-method* OR “qualitative AND qualitative” between 2014 and 2021 to avoid overlap withprevious reviews. From there, each manuscript was reviewed to verify if the research design wasindeed mixed methods and if the

Given the current low 9representation of URM students across engineering in general (ASEE, 2017, 2019; NSF, 2020),their relative representation in remedial courses makes examining the impact of these courses onacademic pathways even more important (e.g., Attewell et al., 2006; Bahr, 2010; Flores et al.,2014). In terms of academic outcomes, only 28% of remediated students declare engineering astheir major on time (by the end of their first year of college), compared to 69% of non-remediated students.
