To create an IM supportive environment for the TAs, the faculty gave the TAs greaterautonomy to choose the structure of their discussion sections and to choose grading procedures.This autonomy was supported by a weekly one-hour coaching and peer-support TA meeting.This meeting consisted of training in grading schemes, listening skills, team building skills, anddiscussions

They had just completed their first two semesters of college with theprevious curriculum, and were then contracted to provide guidance and grading support in thenew classes.
