improvingcommunication skills, on a scale of 1 to 10—with 1 being no impact and 10 being greatimpact. In general, across all categories delivering in-person presentations were ratedhigher than delivering pre-recorded presentations, with an average mean score of7.91±1.92 versus 4.24±2.94. Similar trends were seen in the results for audience learningfor in-person versus pre-recorded presentations. Learning objectives assessed for beingan audience member during each presentation style included understanding of the projectpresented, ability to think critically about the project, willingness to ask questions, andunderstanding of the overall module. The Gallup-Purdue index went on to find how satisfied alumni were with their alma maters.It was found that if the alumni felt that their college prepared them for life, their engagement atwork was tripled. The important ways that the university environment prepared them for lifeincluded six elements. students have been familiarized with the fundamental concepts and relationships of science and engineering in general, and of aerospace engineering and aviation, in particular. Two major team projects have been completed and tested. The activities have culminated in an FAA approved flight simulator sessions and the students’ flights aboard Piper Seminole twin-engine airplanes. The participating students have provided extensive positive feedback on the program. To the teaching faculty, this has been a very pleasant and rewarding experience. The outcomes of the two-week Camp have been discussed in detail and some very useful guidelines for successful outreach efforts have been presented. Introduction

Experience in Solving Open-Ended Problems Introduce the Student to the Ethical Considerations in Design Assisting the Student in making Career Decisions The committee developed a possible course syllabus based upon a two credit hour course that wouldhold a one hour lecture and a two hour lab each week. Key concepts for the course included the design andconstruction and physical display (testing) of the solution to a semester long design project. Of the fifteenweeks of instruction, nine lectures and eight labs focused upon CAD and the remaining classes (five lectures,seven labs and a midterm) were used in pursuit of the design project. faculty at the TUMwas facilitated by a colleague familiar with the faculty at the TUM and fluent in Romanian.Based on several preliminary discussions combined with a preparatory week-long exploratoryvisit to the TUM several possible undergraduate research projects were identified. The topicswere broadly organized into three categories: wind data organization and analysis, small electricmachine research for alternative energy applications (e.g. wind turbine and low-head hydrogenerators), and energy strategies and related economics in Moldova. The TUM faculty that arepredominantly interested in alternative energy research are in the Electrical and MechanicalEngineering Colleges. In addition, several of these faulty members also work through
