twenty years. The program of instruction includes a laboratory program that uses appropriate laboratoryequipment, kits, and a hands-on project to design, build, fabricate, populate, test, and iterate aDC/DC converter. Assessment summarizes nearly twenty years of successful instruction.IntroductionAlmost all electrical power in industrialized societies now is processed through at least onepower electronic stage. As such, electrical engineers (EE) often encounter power electroniccircuitry and systems when performing their routine duties. A knowledge of how these systemswork gives an EE an advantage in understanding and working with power of a nature that isprovided to every electrical system. As part of an innovative sequence of courses at

, power point slides, etc. However, several studies have found that students’ mastery ofcontent knowledge increases when they are engaged in problem-based learning (PBL) andproject based learning (PjBL) [10-24].Curricula must focus not only on the theoretical basis ofenergy systems, but also on the experimental works of power technologies. This point of view isimportant in power and energy engineering studies, consisting of mixtures of power electronics, energy conversion, electric machines, electric circuits, computing, signals and systems, communications, and electromagnetics. Promoting, adapting, and restructuring powerengineering disciplines can be done by defining a new curriculum that includes news courses, new laboratories or new topics in

, Clarkson students and CCE educational staff periodically visit the cafeteriasto coach students on proper food waste management procedures.Curriculum development and instruction. The cafeteria food waste program offers an excellentopportunity for students to engage in place-based learning experiences that use the school as aliving laboratory [23]. Project-based educational experiences have been developed tocomplement the cafeteria food waste program, so that students can learn the science behindresource recovery and anaerobic digestion. Evidence has shown that project-based and place-based learning experiences enhance student motivation, engagement, and learning [24]. Open-ended projects challenge students to operate at the higher levels of Bloom’s

full of lessons and engineering applications.Above all, every university has a power plant and workers who are full of experience and readyto share their experience with students with enthusiasm and dedication. The power plant is ademonstration laboratory that can be used to teach many engineering programs including heattransfer, thermodynamics, machinery, water treatment and water quality, materials, structure, combustion, and, more importantly, all these are undergone under dynamic conditions.Managing this mentorship was difficult, due to the time constraints and the corona pandemic. One of the advantages is the proximity of the early college to the engineering building. Research, education, and outreach are involved in this mentoring at

Images of ten example Model Passive Solar Homes On the project due date, the students bring their models to the laboratory and brieflydescribe their home’s features to the instructor and the other students. As part of theirdescription, the students describe the real-world location where their model home was designedto be located. Then they place their home on the heliodon with the south side of their homefacing the arm of the heliodon. Each home is tested at two altitude angles: solar noon on thewinter solstice, and solar noon on the summer solstice. Based on the location and the resultingaltitude angles, the student adjusts
