There is constant and tenacious work at OIT to develop a strong thrust among the faculty that outreach is very important and should be an ongoing agenda just like class room presentations. OIT-MMET faculty work hard at maintaining regularly scheduled brainstorming sessions with industry partners. • OIT places over 92% of its graduating MMET class each year.Upon reflecting on some of the benefits that the MMET department at OIT has seen in less thansix months, it is evident that there has been an energetic injection of new ideas

UnitedStates is not growing at the rate of other countries. This continuing trend does not bodewell for the future domestic economy or future opportunities for technology students. Anincrease of entrepreneurial activities is one possible solution to the reversal of this trend.Technology students need to become more versed in the use of Design for Six Sigmatechniques used to develop new innovative ideas in addition to the use of non traditionaltechnology areas such as lead user methodology. Development of classroom techniquesand programs where these fundamentals are transferred is of the utmost importance tofuture opportunities for the current technology student in the future global economy.Educational goals include providing the students with the
