world to be fluid enough to encounter the complexsituations emerging across modern engineering’s vast landscape. To see our students effectivelyand flexibly deploying the methods and approaches of modern engineering learned in class to theidiosyncratic dimensions of engineering case studies was especially gratifying to us as faculty. We will be teaching MMW again in spring 2022, and lessons learned from our first ECSexperience will be useful in improving the student experience in the future, especially as BC’snew Department of Engineering begins its operation.References[1] “Toward a renewed Core,” Boston College and Continuum, 2013. https://www.bc.edu/ content/dam/files/schools/cas_sites/core/Toward-a-Renewed-Core-10.30.13.pdf[2] Vox

Geomaticscourse. Students who worked on this project in their first year of college education agreed thatthe 3-D printing of the topographic map and working on the map helped them to understandsections of the Introduction to Geomatics course better in Sophomore year. One of the students’comments is presented below:“The introduction to engineering design project we completed was a great insight to futureclasses. More specifically introduction to geomatics. It was very helpful to recognize topographicmaps, as well as understand how they work. It helped transition to a more advanced class andunderstand the topics at hand in geomatics.” Students who worked on this project will learn about geometric design in Summer 2021and 2022 when they take the
