Over his 30 career in the energy field Ray build large commercial power plants for several utilities. He has also become an AEE Certified Energy Manager, and an AWS CWI. He has taught as an adjunct at the College of Applied Science for 20 years and has served on the industrial advisory boards of the Mechanical Engineering Technology and Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology departments. He received the BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Purdue University. During his college career he worked four summers at U.S. Steel as an assistant electrician, rewinding motors and installing electrical equipment. He served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, including six years designing, constructing, and inspecting electric power distribution projects for a variety of facilities.
