His current research interests are in advanced imaging radar systems and sensor networks and in non-conventional approaches to modeling and solving signal integrity problems in above-10 Gb/s wireline links. He is also interested in improving electromagnetics curriculum on undergraduate level. Corporate Strategy.3 In his book Fusion Management, Stanley Marash notes that since the 1960’s more than 32quality programs have come and gone at an average of almost one per year. He further noted theemergence of a common pattern: “A few pioneer companies adopt or develop a program andachieve great success. The business press takes notice and other companies seek to emulate thepioneers. But as the idea spreads it becomes diluted. Senior management tries to adopt the modelwithout ever really comprehending what is required to make the program successful.”4 It appearsfrom the review of recent articles there is some lack of understanding regarding the evolution ofSix Sigma and Lean. What is Six Sigma? While Six Sigma began as a quality program at

the ispPAC10’s analog circuitry isbased on continuous-time, as opposed to switched-capacitor technology, filters implementedwith the ispPAC10 are not subject to the sampling and aliasing problems often encountered whenusing switched capacitor filters. Due to the frequencies used in the proposed experiments, it isunderstood that the sampling/aliasing problems associated with switched capacitors are far frombeing noticed, although this issue describes one feature of the ispPAC device that might beimportant depending on the application being developed. The ability to program the internalcapacitor values of the ispPAC10 allows the designer to realize thousands of distinct analogcircuits and filter characteristics from a given circuit architecture

threshold, piecewise linear, sigmoid, tansigmoid and Gaussian are usedfor activation.3.2. Control Vibration control techniques for flexible structures are generally classified into twocategories: passive and active control 20. Passive control utilizes the absorption property ofmatter and thus is realized by a fixed change in the physical parameters of the structure, forexample adding viscoelastic material to increase the damping properties of the flexiblemanipulator 21, 22, 23. Active control utilizes the principle of wave interference. This is realizedby artificially generating anti-source(s) (actuator(s) to destructively interfere with the unwanteddisturbances and thus result in reduction in the level of vibration. that integrating many differentmathematics ideas in one concrete context is challenging. Further supports, such as using thedesign context as a capstone activity or incorporating structured transfer activities, may berequired to effectively enable students’ mastery of the more general mathematical ideas. In ourfuture work, we intend to consider more case studies of the curriculum in-action withimprovements to the implementation based on these findings, in addition to conductingcomparative analyses of the curriculum relative to alternative approaches. This will help us tofurther elaborate on the conditions necessary for designing effective K-12 engineering curricula.Bibliography1. W. H. Schmidt, C. C. McKnight, and S. A. Raizen, A Splintered

WPI many entering students have recently expressed an interest in robotics. During theacademic year 2006/07, for example, over 130 visiting prospective students listed robotics eitheras a principal interest area or as their planned major on WPI Admissions Information forms. InFall 2005 and 2006, 96 and 101 freshmen, respectively, joined the WPI Robotics Team. One-third of them stated an interest in pursuing robotics for their senior project or academic major.43% had known of the WPI/FIRST/robotics connection before enrolling at WPI and 62% ofthese indicated that this knowledge was a strong positive reason for selecting WPI.3.0 Education in RoboticsOne may date the earliest robotics-related undergraduate curricula to the 1980’s where

This is particularly important from the point of view of student satisfaction, as student expectations must be molded to fit the constraints of the online-based course delivery.• Support for online delivery classes needs to be expanded
