Challenges such as these bring the scientific method to life for students.Similarly, the Invention Convention [10] is an international competition that teaches theengineering design process to students. Engineer mentors teach the students about the inventionprocess and experimentation. Students are encouraged to create a unique idea, research the idea,and follow the steps in the process of inventing a product. A presentation board explaining theirinvention with a five-minute accompanying video allows the student to provide an elevator pitchto a group of local, national, and ultimately international STEM
