student success is warranted. The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University implementeda new, alumni mentoring program for the 2022-2023 academic year. Initially conceived as beingfocused on first-year students, the program evolved to include students from all undergraduatelevels. The structure, development, and challenges for implementation of this program will bediscussed. In addition, data will be presented from a study focused on first-year students tounderstand potential correlations between participation in mentoring relationships and positiveacademic, self-efficacy, and career awareness outcomes for the students. designed, tested, and finalized in summer of2022. The activity is designed to resemble a real-life problem to help students gain a deeperunderstanding of this subject in their Statics class. The activity utilizes parts from a previouslymade 3D-Printed Statics Modeling Kit, and new parts that were redesigned from the kit to createthe activity. The parts were created in SolidWorks and were exported into Ultimaker Cura andprinted on an Ender 3 Pro. The activity and students’ perception on the activity, which wasutilized in fall 2022, is discussed in the current paper.IntroductionFrames and Machines is one of the most complex topics in a Statics course, due to combiningpreviously learned knowledge from the course and applying it to complex structures

This finding is salient, as the ability to acquire and apply newknowledge is a foundational skill that will serve students throughout their lives.Model DevelopmentThe first step to the creation of a model to predict an agrivoltaic system’s production inPennsylvania was to collect data reflecting the state’s yearly produce outputs. Data was pulledfrom the Pennsylvania Agricultural Statistics Annual Bulletin for 2021-2022 [12]. The data usedin the development of this model was that of 2017, as it was the latest year with full data for allcrops. Issued by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, this report compiles theoverall production of crops in the state. Using these data, a

The ETDepartment offers 5 ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science (BS) in engineering technologyprograms, one of them being BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET). It is clear from these and other, similar studies, that colleges and universities must implement new programs and initiativesfocused on improving student health and well-being and on providing students with resources tohandle the stress and challenges they face.To this end, several student wellness-focused initiatives have been implemented at thecollege/university level. Most have involved creation of committees focused on student wellness, with new programming both in the classroom and separately as optional

Therefore, maintaining the interest in engineering for first-year engineering (FYE)students is critical to promote student retention in

enduring conception of the definite integral based on Riemann sums?Course DesignThe focus of this study is one section of Calculus 1 which I taught at a small, public university inthe eastern United States during the fall 2022 semester. This was a typical first-semester calculuscourse, teaching limits, the derivative, the definite integral, and applications, culminating withthe Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. The textbook for this course was Calculus Volume 1 byStrang and Herman10. Homework was assigned through MyOpenMath(https://www.myopenmath.com). Initial enrollment was 32.I decided to base my presentation of the limit and definite integral concepts on Oehrtman’s8research on the approximation metaphor and Sealey’s9 Riemann integral framework

well asdiscussing the engineering materials we hope to use for teaching purposes.IntroductionThe West Virginia University Libraries consist of five libraries in Morgantown and two onregional campuses. The ones in Morgantown are: The Downtown Library, Evansdale Library,Health Sciences Library, the Law Library, and the West Virginia Regional History Center. TheWVRHC is physically located inside the Downtown Library and occupies almost 10 floors ofspace.During an all staff meeting in 2022, the library administration asked departments to come upwith ideas to increase outreach to other departments within the Library, as well as to otherschools or units outside the Library. As the Engineering Librarian, I was contacted by my colleagues Jane LaBarbara
and were successful with their project.Integration into the ClassroomThis led the instructor to explore the Cognex system more thoroughly to see if the equipmentcould be used on a more general basis, not just in special projects. In Fall 2022, a first attempt to integrate the Cognex cameras into the teaching material of variouscourses occurred. There was great success in this endeavor. Students were challenged butsuccessful across the board in implementing applications using the equipment. What was found was a great number of helpful videos and labs for two different programmingplatforms. EZB (Easy Builder) and SS (Spreadsheet) were the two platforms. After examiningthe first videos, it was determined that all effort should concentrate on SS
