partner companies and gain training andworking experience while earning college credits to complete their degree programs. The authorsof this paper participated in a year-long New York Jobs CEO Council faculty training program.Initially, this provided the opportunity to revise the formal academic curriculum to include high-value technical industry skills. As the program continues to develop, partner companies haveprovided further feedback about the soft skills they are most looking for from apprentices,including oral and written communication, digital fluency, problem-solving, critical thinking,time management, leadership, and teamwork.
