Others, including the author,believe that resilience is merely developmental and that anyone can build it to triumph over life'sups and downs. According to Prince-Embury (2014), there are three basic systems that are essentialfor the growth of resilience: a sense of mastery, a sense of relatedness, and emotional reactivity.Optimism, adaptability, and self-perceived competence or self-efficacy are all components of asense of mastery.
