The group, called FORWARD (Focus on Resources forWomen’s Advancement, Recruitment/Retention, and Development), sought to develop anunderstanding of the climate for women faculty at North Dakota State University. In order toincrease the participation of women at all faculty ranks, by changing institutional culture andpractices, this ad hoc committee collected and analyzed institutional data and conducted severalsurveys to document the present climate and understand institutional barriers to women’ssuccess.   in  terms  of  providing  classes  for  150­200  students  at  a time, not 20­50. There is also the issue of faculty skills. With tenure as a practice, the change in skill mix is very slow. Thirty year careers are very common, so only one­thirtieth of the resident skills  has the possibility of change every  year. While practitioners and adjuncts help accelerate this process, in the long run those individuals are not permanent fixtures in the program. The  second  is  that  ASCE’s  BOK2  “demands”  are  only  one  of  a  larger  set  of  “demands”  that current programs face. An example is preparation for graduate school, teaching students how to do  scholarly  research,  about  which  the  BOK2  is  silent.  Naturally,  the  BOK2  addresses
