and abilities) are treated iteratively throughout the program. Finally, theelement of reflection, outlined in black in Figure 1, is not part of Prather’s model, but is a criticalcomponent of the faculty learning program and a key tool in the development of STEMEducation expertise. As outlined by Tran and Halverson [3], the objectives of the program are to: • Deepen faculty’s understanding of how people learn • Change teaching behavior to support student learning • Engage STEM faculty in habits of reflection • Nurture a tradition of continued learning about teaching • Build a faculty learning communityThe FLP is a full year (two-semester) course completed by a faculty cohort and lead by a team offacilitators. equipped with skills in constraint-based computer modeling to keepinnovating high level technology and systems [2]. As industries lean further into the world of 3Dmodeling, students need to learn how to effectively design in computer systems to communicatetheir visions. Therefore, universities need to keep up with the growing use of CAD and updatecurriculum to reflect the demands of industry including creative visualization skills, communication, and technical prowess [3].Experience is widely considered as the path to becoming an expert in any given field [4-6]. In thecase of CAD and more specifically modeling in CATIA, beginners start to build theirunderstanding of the program and the basic skills that go into 3D design. As these learners

90% of the Hub's first-semester visitors were internationalstudents. They also reflect significant linguistic diversity, as 17% of the Hub's studentsreported they were comfortable speaking Chinese and 10% reported feelingcomfortable speaking Persian. Students also reported speaking Korean, Hindustani,Arabic, Greek, Urdu, and Bengali.Student visitors at the Hub represented every year of graduate study, with 30% in thefifth year of graduate study, 27% in the first year of graduate study, and 16% in thefourth year of graduate study. In terms of engineering departments, most (66%) camefrom computer science, but every engineering department (including chemicalengineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, astronautical engineering

Course Evaluation and ConclusionsTable 3 shows our survey results to evaluate the course. A majority of students gave high ratings for recommendingthis course to other students and the remote learning experience. The survey results indicate positive feedback forthe course. transitioning to and from remote learning. This survey was given in Winter 2022, which was a unique term at the University of CaliforniaIrvine because courses started online and returned to in person later in the term. Moreover, it wasnot clear at the beginning of the term when courses would return to in person, only that theywould eventually. Therefore, this was a particularly disruptive term for the students who had allpreviously experienced the transition to online learning in Spring 2020 and had transitioned backto in person courses by Fall 2021, only to return to online courses in Winter 2022 due to thespread of highly contagious COVID-19 variants. This provided a unique opportunity for studentsto reflect on their experiences adapting through
