keeping in mind the global requirements. Mobility of engineering graduates can be ensured if a uniform curriculum is designed as per the global needs. A system of switching over to outcome based programmes needs to be developed with the active cooperation of the member countries.7.0 CONCLUSION The engineering education in India is undergoing a major shift in terms of access which can be seen from the growth of the educational institutions over the last five years. This has been made possible due to the liberal policy of the All India Council for Technical Education in granting approval for establishing new institutions and allowing existing institutions to start additional programmes and courses.
