2024 ASEE Midwest Section Conference Implementation of Weekly Active Learning Days in a Junior Level Aerospace Engineering Lecture Course Jillian B. Schmidt Missouri University of Science and TechnologyAbstractAerospace Structures 1 is a required junior level lecture course taken by approximately 80students each academic year. Traditionally, this course has consisted of three 50-minute lecturesections per week, and students were assigned grades based on homework and exam scores.Beginning in Fall 2022, this course was re-designed to eliminate graded homework and replacethis graded component with participation in a

As an introductorycourse, the goal was to expose students to a broad range of topics in the field as it pertains toengineering and to prepare them for subsequent courses in sustainability. Pre-assessments givenin Fall 2022 and Fall 2023 showed that the students’ understanding of sustainability was © American Society for Engineering Education, 2024 2024 ASEE Midwest Section Conferenceprimarily focused on energy and the environment. Therefore, course topics were chosen toexpand the students’ views of sustainability into other areas. The Fall 2022 course containedguest

Spring semester 2024. Perhaps the NLP tools previously availablewere simply too difficult to use on undergraduate student project deliverables in prior terms. Inany case, all project reports and videos for the Fall 2022, Spring 2023 and Fall 2023 semestersexhibited no signs of NLP generated text, images, videos or audio. Instead of comparing the useof NLP tools over time, a comparison can be made between cohorts of students to infer adoption © American Society for Engineering Education, 2024 2024 ASEE Midwest Section Conferencespeed. In Table 1 the percentage of adoption is recorded for the three courses by separating theNLP tool use into text generation, image generation, video generation

used in many settings and not always thecleanest and electronically friendly either. As far as durability the AirTag is rated IP67 makingthe device water resistant within 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes [1]. Additionally, thedevice contains extra support from its hard plastic and stainless-steel casing. From a hardwareperspective, Apple’s AirTag seem to be a very rugged and trustworthy tracking device.Security VulnerabilitiesOne of the main security concerns Apple’s AirTag poses is the potential for stalking anddomestic violence cases. Apple released the AirTag in April of 2021 and just within a year later, stalking cases involving AirTags skyrocketed. In April of 2022, there were 150 police reportsfiled in the US for stalking cases

to be in need of a major transformation is the energy engineering education. According to the World Economic Forum [1]-[3], the demand for workers in so-called “green” fields have been rising exponentially, by far outstripping the supply of available workers. In 2023, only one out of eight workers had one or more “green” skills. Between 2022 and 2023, the number of people listing on their LinkedIn profiles at least one “green” skill increased by a meager 12.3%, while the number of job postings requiring at least one “green" skill increased by nearly twice as much (22.4%). Correspondingly, the hiring rate for workers with at least one green skill was 29% higher than the workforce average [4]. One of the main reasons for the
