cost photovoltaicsystems and to professionally interact with real potential customers to review a system proposalfor their residence. Simultaneously, the student participants were learning to develop realbusiness plans for a venture located in a market of their choosing in the US or abroad. Thefaculty was able to bring in an excellent group of outside speakers consisting of individuals whonearly all started, operated (and potentially sold) a photovoltaic business. The majority of thesespeakers were alumni of the university. The companies included Solar City, Renewable EnergyAlliance, SoCore Energy, Lenape Solar, Mesa Solar, SunTechnics, KC Larson, and CommunityEnergy. Retaining Women Engineering Faculty – What Do We Know? Linda R. Musser, Pennsylvania State UniversityA recent ASEE Profiles survey reporting on percentages of engineering faculty by rank andgender found that women engineering faculty numbered less than a quarter of all engineeringfaculty in every rank. It went on to speculate that the overall number of women engineers inacademe were unlikely to change in the near future. Why is this the case? , participated in planning meetings, and attended design reviews of the bike rentalsystem. We and our business partners hope that the bike rental system will increase the numberof students frequenting downtown York and its businesses.In the first stage of this project, in the 2014-15 academic year, two teams of engineering studentsdeveloped their own independent designs. Each team had about ten mechanical, electrical, andcomputer engineering students. Faculty advisors from all three disciplines advised on theprojects. The initial phase of the project was conducted over two semesters. ethical (i.e. authenticity of the material) as well as quality ofthe textbook. It also allows teachers to keep ownership of their work and make changes whennecessary. In two semesters of our trial study, we found that 100% of our students purchased thetextbook. In conclusion, we feel that self-publishing high quality textbooks have the potential tochange education for the better and we plan to continue using them in our classrooms in thesemesters ahead. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2015

I developed an activity in which students can explore eigenvalueanalysis by sketching reaction trajectories. Following the 5E Model, I revised the lesson plan toplace this exploration of the eigenvalue analysis after engaging students in consideration of howchemical kinetics enable oscillations and prior to explanation and elaboration steps.
