Asian American populations.Problems solving is an essential tenet of engineering education. McNeill et al. (2016) note thatengineering students have different beliefs about problem solving and draw a sharp distinctionbetween problems presented in the classroom and problems found in the workplace. This beliefsystem affects the ways students approach problems and once again underscores that not allstudents learn alike. In addition, students have different attitudes about collaborative learning.Stump et al. (2011) note that students perform better when working with peers on assignmentsand in discussing course material.
