noteworthy is the appearance of a somewhatparabolic trend in the time series data, suggesting that the estimate is most inaccurate for materialpresented both far and immediately before the exam. This observation seems consistent with whatmany instructors observe in practice – namely that students perform best on questions related tomaterial that has been presented in lecture recently, assuming that adequate time has passed toallow for appropriate review and content retention. Unfortunately, this may indicate that theperiodic review functionality of ALEKS under default parameter settings is not sufficient to ensurelong-term content mastery for international students.Another interesting observation is the variation in student midterm performance as a

offer courses on Eclipse-based MBD of embedded system, only the graduate school in Chinese Science Academy hasopened a research course recently as far as best knowledge.5. ConclusionMBD is cost effective for developing complex and reliable-critical embedded systems. Thispaper presents our teaching experiences of integrating this new MBD paradigm into a system-level Programming Tools course for CE and EE students. It mainly describes two new topicsintegrated to this PT course: MBD concepts and eclipse-based software tools supporting MBD,from the course materials preparation and instruction approaches two aspects. In the future, students and our teachers will together create and gather more capstone projects related to MBDby means of eclipse-based

world; and provide them an opportunity to experience thedifferent and similar challenges faced by international researchers. This exposure reinforces thestudents’ appreciation for the global context of engineering practice. Additionally, professionalsociety meetings provide an opportunity for students to network with professionals, futureemployers and graduate school recruiters.Design competitions are a way of enabling students to develop their teamwork skills, engineeringskills, and communication skills, and an effective means of creating a sense of community withinthe cohort. Moreover, because design competitions are conducted outside of the classroom or acourse, students are more likely to develop intellectual autonomy because there is not
