GenerationScience Standards (NGSS) released in 2013 include a broader scope of STEM content throughthe inclusion of K-12 engineering education. The NGSS emphasize scientific inquiry,engineering design, and require K-12 students to have the ability to link broad concepts acrossthe various scientific disciplines in STEM [10]. By exposing children to STEM disciplinesduring the early years through hands-on, interactive, and problem-solving activities, researchindicates that children’s interest in STEM career fields’ increases, which establishes aneducational pathway for their future [11, 12].
