Joseph J. Brown leads the Nanosystems Laboratory and serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawai’i at M¯anoa. He joined UH in 2017. He received an A.B. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College in 2000, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He is author of 26 journal articles, 18 conference papers, and 1 book chapter, and an inventor of 11 U.S. patents.
