environments with an average cost range of $80 to $150 per unit.As a result of combining physical hardware, industrial protocols, and cybersecurity modules, this framework offers students a comprehensive curriculum that prepares them for real-worldscenarios that arise when securing CPS and IoT systems.3.2 Laboratory ModulesThe laboratory modules in this work provide students with practical hands-on experience insystems and control, networking, and cybersecurity. Using an embedded development kit, these modules integrate theoretical foundations with practical experimentation, enhancinglearning outcomes and preparing students for real-world challenges.• System modeling and Control Modules on systems and control introduce students to system modeling

Teaching of process safetyis often limited to the classroom as there are few hands-on educational tools for instructingstudents on the practical aspects of safety. In this paper we describe the design and developmentof a hands-on process safety experiment for a Chemical Engineering Unit Operations Laboratorythat is used to assess the explosion risk posed by dust. We constructed a custom Hartman Tube,a device commonly used in industry for explosion risk analysis, at a fraction of the commercialcost–under

document.Related WorkFor decades, the use of hands-on laboratory experience has been seen as an important part of anycomprehensive undergraduate robotics and control engineering curriculum [1–3]. A recent surveyamong robotics instructors representing 67 different institutions of higher education found that75% of all participants agreed that laboratory experience is an integral part of roboticseducation [4]. Examples of hands-on activities for advanced robotics and control engineeringtopics abound in the literature (refer to [5–7]). For example, the laboratory in [8, 9] introducesstudents to the topic of cyber security in robotics by exposing them to the vulnerabilities ofnetworked control systems. Students can design and launch Denial-of-Service and
