So, two engineering librarians teamed up with the group ofinstructors to provide library information modules for the course.Technical writing is an essential skill for developing and practicing engineers. Engineering 101is a freshman-level engineering problem-solving course at WVU which requires students to writeat least two technical reports. Past experience indicates that students typically have difficultyunderstanding the function and content of the parts of a technical report, defining and avoidingplagiarism, evaluating the validity and veracity of online sources, and finding appropriatesources to use in research background information on an assigned topic.
