-CAPA, for HW problem delivery in large introductory physics classes. They investigated anumber of factors including student gender, grade point average (GPA), and ACT scores. Theyfound that the “technology can have a profound impact on learning if it is used in a way thatcapitalizes on its unique ability to “interact” with students, provide them with immediatefeedback, and facilitate interactions among students and between students and teaching staff.”They did not have a way to make direct comparisons with conventional hand-graded HW,however.Pascarella6 looked at learning styles of students in large introductory physics classes and howthose learning styles and associated solution strategies for HW problems were related to HWproblem format.
