. Currently,Bachelor’s degrees awarded in mechanical engineering have increased by 67% between 2004 to2014 (14,182 in 2004 to 23,675 in 2014). In contrast, the number of full-time faculty onlyincreased by 23% from 2001 to 2011 at US Universities2. He was an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. At Rose-Hulman, he co-created the Integrated, First-Year Curriculum in Science, Engineering and Mathematics, which was recognized in 1997 with a Hesburgh Award Certificate of Excellence.
