While such approaches at least appear to support the ideal of goodteaching leading to great learning, they also have methodological flaws and inherent assumptionsabout effective teaching and demonstrations of learning.1When it comes to student feedback, it is important for faculty to be able to consult with othersand actively reflect on their teaching with colleagues in order to respond in a meaningful wayand make impactful changes to their teaching.2 For example, Penny and Coe present best-practices for engaging in so-called peer consultative feedback.6 It is suggested that, for suchfeedback to be useful, it must have the following characteristics: (a) active involvement ofteachers in the learning
