These sitesin addition to many others had also been shared with students during the first week of the courseas sources for more current articles and information on the legal and ethical issues covered in thecourse. management program has included a senior-level capstone course sincenear the beginning of the program in 1976. The BGSU capstone course has involved holisticPBL assignments that mimic real-world circumstances and require students to draw upon theskills and knowledge from their academic training. In academic settings, simulations have been used in many formsover the years (Troka & Nedelman, 1975). In the sciences, experiential learning simulations takethe form of experiments that allow students to test hypotheses as they engage in the scientificprocess of inquiry (Bell & Smetana, 2008).
