We formed divisions as per entrance examination scores and allocated better teachersto divisions with poor performers. The teachers were asked to follow the mastery approach i.e.focus more on understanding. We kept the same divisions for all courses. s based on consistentstudent evaluations of teaching effectiveness and performance of their students in universityexaminations. Kulik et al. [12] did meta-analysis of findings from 108 controlled evaluationsto conclude that mastery learning programs have positive effects on the examinationperformance of students in colleges. Further, they found that the effects appear to be strongeron the weaker students in a class, and they also vary as a function of mastery procedures used,experimental designs

For example, to improvepediatric surgical outcomes, and based upon the needs analysis performed by a local pediatric surgeonin Nigeria, an Infant Warming Device for regulating temperature during pediatric surgeries has beendesigned, prototyped, and tested under laboratory conditions - it is currently being prepared for clinicaltesting. The warmer came about as a result of identifying problems and challenges being experiencedin Nigerian Hospitals by Nigerian doctors and has been developed by an international team of facultyand students from all four universities. ].One of the conclusions from Deardorff (2006)’s study is that intercultural scholars and highereducation administrators did not define intercultural competence in relation to specificcomponents. Instead, both groups preferred definitions that were broader in nature [15].However, there was an 80% agreement on these skills. Using the items on which 80% or more ofboth the intercultural scholars and administrators agreed, Deardorff (2006) organized these itemsinto two visual ways of defining intercultural competence that could be used as a framework byadministrators and others in their work in developing and accessing intercultural competence[15]. themselves come from a demand forinnovation, not just an interest or conventional idea for an encapsulating project. Generally, theprojects come from one of two places. Most commonly, MUSE faculty (along with theconnections they have made in their previous endeavors and continued careers) generatepotential projects that will push students to innovate and create new solutions for real-worldproblems. Alternatively, students have the option of finding their own project to work on bycontacting companies for industry-based projects. As long as the project is approved by thestudents’ advising professor(s), the project can be pursued.
