management committee developed a sense of autonomy and commitment to Icarus,with the goal of growing it sustainably over time with the support of the School of Civil Engineering. The Chairof the student management committee is now a full member of the Industry Advisory Board by petition of theexternal members of the Board. Furthermore, from a community building perspective, it is important tohighlight that most students enrolled in the program to try it for one semester and the majority has decided not toleave, some of them have expressed that will continue engaging with Icarus projects until the time theygraduate, because of the value they find in the program for their identity development as engineers.4.
