understanding of how well they are, or are not, implementing theirnew skills. With the advent of such technology as the Apple wristwatch, two-waycommunication makes immediate feedback available to the P-20 leaders (Avolio, 2010). Marturano (2014) summarizes that mindful practices enhance mental health and improveleadership performance. Leaders also need to find time and space to recharge. Leaders musthave focus, clarity, compassion, and creativity. Leaders should practice mindful leadershiptechniques. Session ETD 305[12]. In another study, Kitch investigated the effectiveness of JiTT and peer instruction in hisspecific discipline (civil engineering) [13]. He collected and analyzed data from 296 studentsover 4 years (8 different course offerings by 3 different instructors). He concluded that studentsfound computational problem sets as the most effective learning tool in these classes, which isexpected due to the problem-solving nature of most of the engineering courses. Interestingly, students found just-in-time teaching and peer instruction the next most effective tools. Themajority of students reported that JiTT helped them be on-schedule and more mindful in theclassroom [13].In another study that was supported by NSF (Division of

Strong oral and written communication skills, including preparation and delivery of professional, technical and non-technical reports and presentations;10. Time management skills. At the end of the period the students will be able to understand the real economic and socialimpact of engineering in this century. Another target goal to be achieved is to foster among themthe entrepreneurial mind to pursue other opportunities than find a job in a company. For theuniversity the final goal is to attract more students and enlarge the number of students inengineering programs. Besides by law the universities should to provide

Session ETD 435 Coaching Points for Successful Leadership in Large High Technology Companies Andrew J. Czuchry East Tennessee State UniversityAbstractA system engineering and process management approach is offered to mitigate risks for strategicdecision making in large high technology based companies. This approach is based upon the riskmitigation methodology of project management together with a process approach to deploying afull scale engineering development for a complex hardware system. The cost of decision makingis related to the
