Three times the team made presentations to this class of approximately sixty (60)students. The middle school students were engaged by the team and the project, and evenparticipated in some of the design decisions. Our sense was that this activity showed engineeringin a very positive light to the middle school students and most probably opened many of them upto this as a career opportunity. Furthermore the eclectic nature of the project provided a unifyingtheme woven through the fabric of an apparently unrelated middle-school curriculum.
