Bandura identified four primary sources of self-efficacy: masteryexperiences, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and physiological states [23]. Self-efficacybeliefs have been understood to be strong predictors of behavior [24].Self-efficacy beliefs are not inherent or global traits of an individual; rather, they are “active andlearned systems of belief held in context” (p. 754) [25]. Thus, an instructor may feel high levelsof teacher self-efficacy in particular teaching tasks or domains and lower levels of teacher self-efficacy in others. Scales used for measuring teacher self-efficacy ask teachers to rate their levelof
