SDP team positionedthemselves in antagonism to the Ethics Advisor, and interpreted most of the questions asked bythe ethics advisor as a direct challenge of their design. This created tense, at times hostileatmosphere that made discussing broader ethical issues very difficult, if not impossible. Adifferent dynamics was observed when one of the SDP teams—TAR team in this case—wasjoined by a team of ethics advisors, also humanities students. Both teams seemed to create acommon goal, which was to discuss ethical issues in engineering. It was no longer a Q&A, but acollegial and constructive discussion of engineering design and its ethical and socialimplications. In sum, we found that a team of ethics advisors can help the SDP team’s
