Laboratory CourseAbstractLifelong learning is a part of student outcome in ABET ETAC in Criterion 3 (2017-2018, 2018-2019) as “self-directed continuing professional development”. Lifelong learning Criterion 3 (i) inABET EAC 2019-2020 is mapped to the new Criterion 3 #7 as “an ability to acquire and applynew knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies”. For some instructors oflaboratory courses, it can be challenging, vague, or difficult to measure this student outcome. Avariety of definitions was found that related to continuing learning and professional developmentafter graduation. The definitions vary enough to make it difficult for instructors to developcurriculum and assessment tools. The value of this paper to the laboratory

AeromechanicsII. AAE 20401 is an aerospace structural mechanics lab course for second-year students wherethey had the opportunity to use the Virtual Lab software. When implementing the Virtual Labs,we characterized the content, assessment, and pedagogy of the course under the BackwardCourse Design Model to identify how the Virtual Lab software could be integrated into thecoursework. After a year of getting feedback on the software from the students and investigatingthe pedagogical approaches on how to use it, we introduced a new format on the use of thevirtual lab in Fall 2019. This paper describes the latest version of the lab course with theintegration of the Virtual Lab software. The curriculum design, presented in this paper, is auseful reference for

Engineering Edu- cation (ASEE) and conducts research in engineering education.Darius Fieschko, University of Wisconsin - Platteville c American Society for Engineering Education, 2020 PLC Training in First Year Electrical Engineering ProgramAbstractProgrammable Logic Controllers ( PLCs) have had a profound impact on industry and society atlarge. PLCs are an integral part of a wide variety of control systems, ranging from industrialmanufacturing to amusement park rides and filmmaking. Programming languages like ladderlogic allow technicians and engineers without formal programming experience to build anddebug complex automation systems much faster than if they needed to physically build arrays ofrelays and

on by the engineering students inthe spring 2019 section of ME 450 Aircraft Design. The new motors were researched, procured, and installed on the Stewart platform during the spring of 2019. However, testing of the largermotors by these students was severely limited due to the moving of the new School ofEngineering to new facilities (including all new laboratories) during the summer of 2019. Besides the changing of student team members from the original group, this movebrought additional challenges to the project since the simulator and all the associated equipmenthad to be disassembled and boxed up for the relocation to the new lab space. But the move hasrecently been completed, and now a new multidisciplinary team of five

Research Organization) Laboratory is created atKennesaw state university. The university currently offers a minor in Aerospace Engineering.Minor is available to students majoring in all disciplines of engineering and sciences. To earn aminor, students are required to take five Aerospace Engineering classes including a senior designcapstone project. By the time students finish their minor, they are well versed in Aerospaceconcepts and are on a path to either pursue graduate degrees in Aerospace engineering or a careerin the Aerospace industry. The AE minor has grown in popularity over the past few years. Tosupport this growth, the school established an AERO lab in the summer of 2019. This lab providesa platform for students and faculty to
