derived quantities such as volumetric ormass flow rate. Students work with a number of types of probes (Kiel probes, pitot-static tubes),measurement systems (square edge orifice plate, venture tube), and experimental equipment tomake these measurements. The students use National Instruments data acquisition and controlhardware and LabVIEW software extensively in the lab portion of the course. This two credit course, one credit lecture and one credit lab, places a high level of emphasis oncritical thinking and originality through several open-ended laboratory assignments and a groupproject. These activates focus on planning an experimental program, designing the measurementsystem, reducing the data, and interpreting the results. Students will

Keywords: Robot simulation software, Visual Components software, industrial robot, 3D CAD data, virtual commissioning, Process Optimization, robot integratorIntroduction:The Visual Components (VC) simulation software has become an increasingly essential toolfor manufacturing professionals having the responsibilities of layout, planning, and optimizingthe work cell design for virtually commissioning the robot and accelerating the time toproduction [1]. It uses 3D CAD data to create a virtual model of the robot

improvements. Students get realistic design and applicationopportunities and experience that lead to no shortage of the best job offers, giving their careers agreat start.Electrical Demand ChallengeElectrical demand is a means for public utilities to charge customers more fairly for their use ofthe utilities’ infrastructure. Utilities plan and build their electrical distribution systems to belarge enough to provide enough power to meet the demands of their customers. The more that autility expects its customers to demand, the larger must be the utility’s investment in equipment.Equipment has a capital cost and a maintenance cost. To help meet these costs, most publicutilities have demand charges in their billing structure for commercial and industrial

sizes. With no sitting space, it is desirable to use portable desktop trainers which can beused in any classroom. The same issue exists with regards to the PLC course. Previously, theauthors had proposed two separate portable desktop units for these lab activities with theircorresponding lab activities and they also mentioned their plan to incorporate instrumentation inthese lab activities ([1, 2, 3]). Currently, there are 21 PLC trainers and a prototype is alreadybeing built for the fluid power lab. Further discussion and consideration resulted in identifyingsome lab activities that can be shared if there were one set of trainers that cater to the need ofboth courses. This paper discusses the design and development of an integrated trainer

Engineering programs received initialABET accreditation in 2012, followed by Computer Engineering in 2013. Mechanical Engineeringbegan in 2014 and produced its first graduates in 2018, with ABET accreditation currently (as ofJanuary 2019) pending. The Electrical, Computer, and Industrial & Systems Engineering programs wereall reaccredited by ABET in 2018. The Computer Science programs were transferred to the School ofBusiness in the spring of 2018, resulting in the renaming of the Liberty University School ofEngineering (LUSE). Civil Engineering will start in the 2019-20 school year, and ComputationalEngineering is planned for 2020-21. The number of declared engineering majors has grown steadilyreaching a peak enrollment of 518 in the 2018-2019

with the 4-input feature option.5. Implementation in classroomThe proposed artificial intelligence (AI) model can be used in various classroom and laboratorysettings with machine learning software packages for general engineering studies thanks mainlyto its versatility in modeling the procedures of forecasting any future events based on big data. Itwould be particularly beneficial to a student who attempts to learn how to predict future weatherevents for planning purposes in the AI approach. In a traditional approach, Ordinary LeastSquare (OLS) regression is one of the methods generally used for the prediction. By using themachine learning approach proposed in this paper, a student will learn the state-of-art machinelearning approach and

understanding of the procedures and objectives. Inorder to keep students as engaged as possible, the labs are designed to only take ~ 1.5 – 2 hours, with efficiency increased by using prelab assignments to ensure that appropriate planning hasbeen completed prior to attending. In addition, a lab notebook is required to document allexercises with an emphasis on data integrity, and ethics of recording and presentation. Althoughanalysis associated with most lab exercises is done within the lab group, the analysis from fourexercises is done individually. Combined with individual effort from the lecture portion of thecourse, 50% of the grade is individual while 50% is team based. This helps to ensure thatstudents are not simply carried by their teammates.1
