In the workshop, we present how to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a publication with respect to properly defining the work’s objectives, the suitability of their methods, the representation of their results, and the validity of their discussion and conclusion points. We could not rely, for instance, on students having a tablet and stylus that they could share with their peers, and we felt that a virtual whiteboard that students had to operate with a touchpad or mouse was inadequate for writing detailed calculations or drawing complex images.
