There is a need for more educational innovations that have a significant impact onstudent learning and performance7.An industrial advisory council approached an engineering technology department at a Universityin Louisiana with a need to develop a new program tailored to working professionals. Thisprogram was named a Post- Baccalaureate Certificate in Quality Control, which focuses oneffective decision-making in technical, manufacturing, and service providing industries.According to long term projections for industrial production managers, the need for qualitycontrollers in industrial organization is around 2170/year until 2022. an engineering technology department’s industry advisory council at aUniversity in Louisiana approached the department with a need to develop a new course onproject management. The university administration showed support to develop a new course, andit was offered for the first time in less than one year (Fall 2015). According to long termprojections for industrial production managers, the need for managers in industrial situations is2170/year until 2022. In the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Five-Star Jobs listing, there areapproximately 300 advertisements for supervisors, inspectors, controller, and industrialtechnician advertisements7 (accessed on 7/14/2015). mixed option proved to keepstudents more engaged in some courses where the total instructional minutes for each class waslonger. The multiple delivery options are being used in the Spring and Fall 2021 terms, and willalso be considered for the Spring 2022 term depending on the College protocol in place due tothe pandemic. Communication to help engage and retain students was not restricted to the classroom, and cultivating workforce readiness was multifaceted. Students who needed tutoring could seekextra help with their course work in the virtual Bucks Academic Success Center [10]. The STEMDepartment also provided additional faculty assistance in their virtual STEM Learning Center(SLC). Full and part time faculty were available at

The IETprogram has an industrial advisory board that drives curricular changes according to the needs ofthe region. These needs are not different to those identified by the US Department of Labor;according to its estimation for the years 2012-2022, the computing and mathematical group ofoccupations will have 700,000 open positions6. The employment by specific occupation is alsoencouraging for IET areas such as computer networks and security professions, with incrementsin opening positions of 36.5% and 10-15% in security analysis and network-related specialists6.Over the past two years alone, the number of jobs requiring a Certified
