theCanadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) and the Accreditation Board for Engineeringand Technology (ABET) require standards and codes to be included in the engineeringcurriculum [3, 4]. Engineering librarians have been teaching students to use standards at leastsince the 1980s, and probably earlier [5]. Consequently, academic libraries that supportengineering programs have been collecting standards for decades.PurposeThe inspiration for this paper was the author’s discovery in 2022 of a large cache of early (pre-1950) Canadian national standards in a library storage facility. The standards were developed bythe Canadian Engineering Standards Association (CESA), Canada’s first national standardsdevelopment organization (SDO). CESA changed its

STEM [15].Camp Inception and PlanningThe Grainger College of Engineering has offered summer camps for high school students for thepast few decades at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. These summer camps providevarious discipline-specific content to participants. Both locals and students from around thecountry participated in these programs. Shortly before 2020, some departments began offeringday camps to middle school students. The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)department began planning a new in-person middle school summer camp with the collegeoutreach office in 2022. The college managed the application process for all engineering summercamps, typically allowing a maximum of 25 students for discipline-specific

The assessment process must be conductedperiodically to facilitate continuous improvement, and it must be managed by the instructorsthemselves. This program follows two assessment cycles: Cycle A for odd academic fiscal years(2021, 2023, etc.) and Cycle B for even academic fiscal years (2020, 2022, etc.). Any outcomesnot achieved in a particular cycle will be reassessed in the subsequent cycle. To promotecontinuous improvement, feedback from instructors and student evaluations is incorporated intofuture course offerings. These changes will be documented in the Self-Study report, and theplanning guides
