This paper focuses on the impacts of the academiccoaching components that were offered as graded activities in the first-year engineering courses.We also investigated any effects of a pilot 8-week course offered and taught by academiccoaches in spring 2022 for students placed on probation after their first semester.Our results show more than half of the students appreciated the use of class time for academiccoaching activities. Some subjects, such as time management and test preparation, were morepopular than the others. More than 60% of the students agreed that they learned a new tool tohelp their academic success in future.
