research is also one of the objectives of AerosPACE. With the popularityand interest in massive open online courses (MOOCs) and flipped classes, some evidencesuggests such methods may not be as effective as presumed [2] [3]. The AerosPACE course hasbeen developed to enable research on engineering teaching and learning in a unique multi-disciplinary, multi-university environment. In this paper the academic year 2013-2014 AerosPACE senior capstone project, where threemulti-university teams of students collaborated with Industry to design, build, and fly a UAVcapable of monitoring farmland to improve crop yield, is presented.
