The four components of the Writing SySTEM are(1) workshops to teach writing skills and promote the recruitment of diverse participants intoother components, (2) discipline-specific graduate writing courses, (3) peer writing groups, and(4) writing resources hosted on a publicly available Open Educational Resource (OER). as a psychometrician, program evaluator, and data analyst, with research interests in spatial ability, creativity, engineering-integrated STEM education, and meta-analysis. As a psychometrician, she has revised, developed, and validated more than 10 instruments beneficial for STEM education practice and research. She has authored/co- authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings and served as a journal reviewer in engineering education, STEM education, and educational psychology. The students were asked to select anarrative non-fiction book about aerospace history, write a short report, and present theirfindings to the class. The objectives of the project were to help students apply the course materialto a historical context, to promote students’ lifelong learning through reading, and to encouragestudents to explore the societal and historical context of aerospace engineering. The instrumentation on Centaur V is essential tomeasuring stress, strain, and other mechanical factors during testing to ensure the system canperform as expected during a launch. Most of the testing done follows a general testing process.This process consists of designing, fabricating, instrumenting, creating a test setup, constructingthe database, writing a Test Procedure Sheet, and running the actual test. A specific test was adog bone test, which was designed to focus stress on the middle portion of the sample. This “dogbone” test used methods that correlate directly with larger-scale structural tests, such as thoseconducted on Centaur V. These smaller tests serve as a cost-effective and reliable method

both groupsMethodsStudents were approached during a recitation period for AERO 201 and presented with a briefintroduction to both the NUA2NCED Laboratory and the experiment itself. The recitation periodoccurred from 9:10 AM to 10:00 AM in a lecture hall seating approximately 40 students. Afterthe introduction, a total of 37 students opted to participate in the experiment.The experiment as administered is divided into three segments: a pre-survey, two exam-formatproblems, and a post-survey. All materials were accessed online; participants were provided aseries of internet links to direct them to each component of the study. Each participant wasprovided a single sheet of paper on which to write any scratch work necessary to complete
