Participantswere asked to rate their level of certainty with which they believe they can perform each task ona Likert scale from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Disagree). To ensure content-relatedvalidity, this instrument was reviewed by two professors in engineering education who haveexpertise in self-efficacy research and survey design. To gather validity evidence based onresponse processes, think aloud protocols were used with two students to improve the wording ofthe survey before its broader use.
