faculty are required to have doctoral degrees and maintain asponsored research program in addition to their teaching duties. Although most of our tenure-track and tenured faculty have construction industry experience, few have more than 5 years ofconstruction experience. We have found that the more industry experience a faculty member canbring into the classroom to supplement the core coursework, the better the students master thecontent. When students make the connection between course materials and real-life situations,they realize the importance of what they are learning.
