afterschool Xplore STEM camp. Due to the increased number ofconfirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Michigan, large gatherings are restricted andparticipants (students, staff, and volunteers) from different schools are unable to meet at a singlelocation. Hence, the afterschool enrichment program includes two schools, who will be virtuallyattending the sessions via zoom. The teacher from each school will facilitate interactions duringthe online sessions conducted by the program director from the university. Service (LTS) is an umbrella term that encompasses service-learning (SL) andextracurricular activities such as Engineers Without Borders (EWB) that teach students valuableskills while also benefitting community partners. Although EWB is primarily an extra-curricularactivity for students, some projects are designed and structured to teach specific skills andinclude reflective writing assignments for student participants. Data can takemany forms including evaluations of student products, interviews and observations and feedbackfrom alumni reflecting back on their experience after graduation. implementationThe practice run element holds the space in the process where recruited university studentfacilitators receive training in the curriculum(s) for that month so they can be prepared to supportthe in-classroom activities. Table 2 illustrates such knowledge regarding the seismic riskinvolved. system in order to provide the village of Vuelta Grande withpotable water. The two-week abroad experience in Guatemala, between the fall and springsemesters, consisted of working with the adult leaders of the village to design, procure material,build, and test the rainwater catchment-filter system. During the Spring 2014 semester followingthe experience weekly culmination meetings allowed the students to reflect and document theirexperience in a series of presentations to the college and the local professional community.
