The culminating feature of this courseis a final project, called the Cornerstone Project, which includes the construction, optimization,and mechanical design of a windmill system. This system includes the integration of student-built AC motors, DC motors, and data acquisition systems that students use to discernquantifiable results for their windmill, such as efficiencies, power output, and windmill speed –accomplished via the construction of a tachometer, which the students design and build.The first implementation of this course was in Spring 2017, in which the programming aspects ofthe Cornerstone Project were executed
