concerns compared to their non-engineering peers [32]. Furthermore, a study conducted by Lilley andLarnell (2023) on historically minoritized graduate students in STEM, including engineering, identified the impactof continuous microaggressions and social isolation on their mental health. This research highlighted the need forevidence-based support systems specifically designed for students from historically marginalized communities tomitigate the effects of intimidating academic environments [33]. Another study, focusing on the Indian context, highlighted the role of interpersonal stressors, including changes in social activities and disagreements with peers,as significant contributors to students’ stress. The study also pointed to financial

educationally valuable video games to use in their curriculum. Inrecent years, EVGs have become an increasingly used tool within higher education curriculumdue to their potential for improving and supporting active educational engagement. We defineEVGs as video games designed to help people understand concepts and learn domain knowledge. We have two research questions we seek to answer during the development of the database.Firstly, what patterns, trends, and gaps are found within the landscape of EVGs? Secondly, whatcharacteristics do higher education instructors want in this database to help them find EVGs?These questions allow the database to become a beneficial tool by filling the practical needs ofacademic faculty. Factors such as teaching style

impactful attacks faced by SMBs?” This allows us tocenter the scope of our research on the most frequent and impactful attacks. This is done in orderto maximize the area of coverage with as little workforce as possible, due to the limited nature ofan SMB. Our research found that, the most frequent attacks are phishing/social engineering,malware/ransomware, and web-based attacks (Section 3.1).Third. “How can the workforce be equipped with the necessary knowledge, and skills to applythe best practices?” This helps us incorporate the NICE Framework as a bridge between theworkforce and the best practices by mapping the TKSA to the most frequent attacks. However, the NICE workforce framework lists a total of 634 knowledges, 377 skills, 1006 tasks, and

Dr. Dillon currently serves as a Co-PI for the STARS Computing Corps, which recently has been renewed for funding by NSF. He has also conducted a Faculty in Residency at Google during the summer of 2018 to learn more about this company’s culture, practices, and to understand the expectations for candidates (e.g. aspiring CS majors) who pursue career opportunities at this company and related prominent companies in tech.Zubayer Ahmed Sadid, Florida International University ©American Society for Engineering Education, 2024 Educational Expertise: Faculty Insights on Preparing Computing
