personally painful. So far our students(both on-campus and remote) are very appreciative of this resource. All agree, though, that novirtual experience can fully replace hands-on learning: it must be retained. We also recognize thevalue of occasional face-to-face interaction for effective problem solving and clarification ofmisunderstandings on the material, etc. The key idea is that we can retain these clearly desirableelements as per a traditional class while at the same time leveraging the resources offered by thetechnology to ease the burden on the student without sacrificing quality.Since we are still new to the technology that enables the VSC, there will likely be otherunforeseen applications that will benefit engineering education.
