collaborative work between researchers with expertise inmental health and those from other disciplines (such as STEM disciplines) in order to appropriatelycommunicate contextualized findings about mental health.Based on our findings, out of 616 filtered publications focused on graduate students' mental health,23 publications were literature reviews. However, among those, none focused explicitly on theexperiences of marginalized students in STEM. This finding here underscores one benefit of thestructured approach for identifying articles as part of a formal scoping literature process:highlighting areas yet to be explored. faculty representation. Context Historically, Latinx engineering graduates represent 6% of all engineers in the workforcewith little year-over-year growth in the last decade. To further break down that statistic, Latinosmake up 4%, while Latinas make up 2% of the engineering workforce [5]. We wanted to create space so thosecoming after us can do the real work to move toward sisterhood.Race affects cross-racial mentoring relationships at all levels of higher education includingsenior faculty to junior faculty, faculty to postdocs, and faculty to graduate students [1]–[3]. Such a disparity in experience and support may dissuade female studentsfrom pursuing an engineering profession after graduation, given the crucial opportunityinternships provide for students to learn and practice key skills for their future employment [57]. The findings of this study also suggest that the role of female supervisors in the civilengineering workplace is critical for Asian women to share their concerns about difficulties andaspire to be like them. This study found that female supervisors were particularly helpful fordeveloping career interests.
